Middleburgh Library Notes for Sunday, February 5, 2017

On Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 10:45 a.m. join us for  drop-in storytime. Get ready to move in this interactive storytime designed especially for children to age 5 and their caregivers. We'll read books, sing songs, recite fingerplays, dance and watch a short movie based on a weekly theme. No registration required

Mahjong

On Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 1 p.m. men and women are invited to the library for a get together in the community room to play Mahjong. Don't know how to play? They will teach you how. No problem. No registration is required.

 Insight meditation

On Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 5:15 p.m. join us for a simple group Zazen meditation practice. All are welcome.  No registration is required.  

Movie

The Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 1 p.m. the movie “The Eagle Huntress" will be shown (rated G). This spellbinding documentary follows Aisholpan, a 13-year-old nomadic Mongolian girl who is fighting to become the first female eagle hunter in twelve generations of her Kazakh family. Through breathtaking aerial cinematography and intimate verite footage, the film captures her personal journey while also addressing universal themes like female empowerment, the natural world, coming of age and the onset of modernity.  No registration required. Energy healing

On Wednesday, Feb. 8 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. for Energy Healing. At any stage of life optimum health is necessary for us to lead a fulfilling existence. Come explore the potentials energy healing can have on your physical, mental, and emotional well being. Eileen Knott uses a non-invasive, hands off technique (Reconnective and Matrix Energetics systems) of working with your body's energy fields to initiate your own innate healing abilities.  his work is particularly effective for acute pain, anxiety and depression.  Registration is required. Knitting circle

On Thursday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. the friendly ladies knit and crochet, embroider, and quilt, and more. You can learn a new skill here or share your own special talents with others or just craft in the company of friends. Drop in anytime. No registration is required.   

Wellness fair

Join us on Saturday, Feb. 11 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the Wellness Fair with demonstrations, raffles and a grand prize raffle snowshoes.
