Guilderland Library Notes for Wednesday, September 22, 2021
Craft opportunities abound at Guilderland Public Library, including a Craft Graveyard Goodie Bag available Oct. 12 for registrants. Check the Events tab of guilderlandlibrary.org and sign up early, as programs tend to fill up quickly.
There may be some final touches still yet to be completed as construction concludes, but we’re excited to welcome patrons back into the (almost done) newly-renovated library beginning Monday, Sept. 27!
Hours will be: Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.
Masks are required to enter GPL. Capacity is currently limited, due to COVID restrictions and based on our Pandemic Operation Plan (posted at https://guilderlandlibrary.org/get-to-know-us/people/board-of-trustees/). We ask that you limit your visit to 30 minutes, so that all can visit while maintaining social distancing.
Browsing and photocopying will be available. Meeting and study rooms are not yet available. Public computers, stalled by global microchip shortages, are expected in mid-October.
Curbside operations will temporarily conclude on Sunday, Sept. 26, to be reinstated later this fall. For those who prefer this option, our holds shelf near the circulation desk and self-checkout stations will be accessible for contactless transactions, and we will gladly accommodate patrons with health issues who require more personalized service.
Blood drive
Senator Michelle Hinchey is sponsoring a blood drive at the library on Friday, Sept. 24, from 1 to 6 p.m., in partnership with the American Red Cross. To schedule an appointment, please call 1-800-REDCROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code GuilderlandLibrary.
In order to make a general blood donation (not power red), donors must be in good health and feeling well, be at least 16 years old, and weigh at least 110 pounds. If a repeat donor, you must have donated 56 or more days ago.
All donors will receive a limited-edition college football T-shirt, while supplies last.
