Cheerful daffodils line the walkway leading to curbside services in the Normanskill Room at the Guilderland Public Library, while brisk construction activity continues inside and out. Project completion is anticipated for early fall.

A new installment of the Guilderland Public Library’s monthly podcast, “How Did You Find It?,” is now available on all major platforms, including Apple and Spotify. Librarian Kathleen Tyrrell lends an insider’s view on our building project, helpful free resources you may not know about, book releases, entertainment news and other trendy topics.

Springtime cards

Spread some sunshine to our neighbors by making springtime cards for the clients of Community Caregivers! We’ll collect the cards April 20 through May 14, and Community Caregivers will distribute them to clients.

Create one or more spring-themed cards no larger than 5 x 7, or repurpose an old card. Write an uplifting message inside and/or sign your name if desired. Community Caregivers will provide envelopes and mail the cards.

Drop off your cards in the Springtime Card Project Box inside the Normanskill room during curbside hours. Thank you for brightening someone’s day!

Drug Take Back Day

The Drug Enforcement Administration National Drug Take Back Day is a nationwide semi-annual event on Saturday, April 24, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., providing a safe way to dispose of unwanted substances.  This drive-through event is scheduled to be held in the library's auxiliary parking lot (an immediate right turn upon entering MercyCare Lane), in partnership with the Guilderland Police Department.

However, due to our construction project, the location may change; please check the Events calendar of our website for updates and further details.
