Bethlehem Library Notes for Thursday, May 29, 2014

On Friday, June 6, at 10 a.m., join us at the Bethlehem Public Library for a construction story time and craft. This program is for children age three and up with a caregiver.

Lego Club

On Friday, June 6, at 4 p.m., the library will supply the Legos, and you supply the imagination. Try Lego challenge and build friendships. This program is for kids and their families.

Author Talk

On Sunday, June 8, at 2 p.m., Richard Matturro will read from his latest novel, Medea. He will be joined by artist Mary Trevor Thomas, whose line drawings and photos illustrate Matturro’s work. A book sale and signing follow the talk. Sponsored by Friends of Bethlehem Public Library.

Daybooks

On Monday, June 9, at 1:30 p.m., the book group will discuss Dreams of My Russian Summers by Andrei Makine. New members are welcome. Copies available at the information desk. Audio copies may also be available.

Board meets

On Monday, June 9, at 6:30 p.m., Bethlehem’s library board will meet. This meeting is open to the public.

Afterdinner Too

On Tuesday, June 10, at 7 p.m. the book group will discuss The Other Typist by Suzanne Rindell. New members are welcome. Copies are available at the information desk. Audio copies may also be available.

Knitting

Knitters of all ages, beginners and experts alike, are invited to take part in Worldwide Knit In Public Day at the library on Saturday June 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Giveaways, drawings, and “yarn bombings” are scheduled throughout the day.

Free mini classes will be offered by staff of The Spinning Room in Altamont. New knitters can bring No. 8 knitting needles for a beginners’ lesson at 2 p.m.

Weather permitting, the event will be held on the library green; bring a chair or blanket. Light refreshments will be provided; feel free to bring a picnic lunch.
