Bethlehem Library Notes for Thursday, April 17, 2014

On Thursday, April 17, at 2 p.m. come to the Bethlehem Public Library for Oragami Club.

Leam basic techniques; get help with a special project. This program is for kids in kindergarten through grade 7.

Listening Party On Thursday, April 17, at 7 p.m., the library’s Listening Party will present Maria Schneider. Listen to the best in jazz; leam about jazz history; share observations and stories.

Piggy banks On Friday, April 18, at 10 a.m., create your own bank using re cled s a bottles. This program is for ds in kindergarten through grade 5. Call 4399314 to sign up.

Vacation cinema On Friday, April 18, at 2:30 p.m., bring a blanket and pillow for a comfy movie-watching experience. Call 439-9314 for details. Families are welcome.

Trivia night

On Monday, April 21, at 6 p.m., the library will have a trivia contest open to adult and teen teams; call 439-9314, ext. 3009 for more information and to sign up.

Easter holiday 

The library will be closed on Easter Sunday, April 20. Access the library catalog and other library services online anytime at wvvw.bethlehempubliclibrary.org Earth Day On Tuesday, April 22, at 7 p.m. come to the library and celebrate our planet with a variety of crafts and activities. Families are welcome.

Job coaching The library offers free job coach services for adults preparing to enter or reenter the job market. Get expert one-on-one help with various job-hunting skills: résumés, cover letters, written and online applications, interview protocol, and Linkedln accounts. Hour-long appointments are available; call 439-9314, ext. 3009.

Lyme disease Lyme disease is rampant in the Capital Region, but taking precautions can decrease the chances of contracting this serious infection. At the library on Tuesday April 29, at 7 p.m., leam how Lyme disease is transmitted, where exposure is likely, and how to properly remove a tick.

Presenter Sara Lyons holds a masters degree in public health from UAlbany and is a certified health education specialist.
