Berne Library Notes for Wednesday, April 5, 2023
with guest writer Penny
“Hi, my name is Penny and I’m 6 years old. My Aunt Sandra said I could help write some things for this week’s library article. She’s gonna type it cuz I haven’t learned how to do that yet.
“First, I want to tell everybody that April is National Poetry Month. I know because my really grown-up cousin is always telling me poems. MyAunt Sandra writes poems sometimes too, just like her Mom. That might be how my cousin got to writing poems.
“The library has lots of neat books with poems in it. One of my favorites is ‘Kate and Nate Are Running Late!’ Specially cuz I have an Uncle Nate and Aunt Kate who live really far away from me.
“Aunt Sandra says Kate Egan wrote it and it’s in the Rhyme/Song section where the picture books are with the brown dots. You should check it out some time when you visit the library.
“Another thing I want to say is about Pokémon Club on Saturday, April 8, and it goes from 2 to 3 p.m. They play games, trade Pokémon cards and share all kinds of things to do with Pikachu and his friends. Maybe you can stop in and have some fun with us.
“Oh, yeah! Tuesday story time is gonna be on April 11 at 10:30 in the morning and my Aunt Sandra says it’s going to be an egg hunt. Miss Kathy always reads a book to the younger kids who are 4 or less plus plays little games and sometimes helps us make a craft that we can take home with us. Cool beans.
“Well, I’m getting kind of tired so I asked Aunt Sandra if she could finish writing and she said OK and good job and I gave her a hug.”
