BETHLEHEM — Art on the Rail Trail, a committee of the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy, is holding a Meet the Artists Community Meeting at the Bethlehem Town Hall Auditorium on Thursday, Sept. 7, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Mildred Elley, a for-profit two-year college founded in Albany, is celebrating its centennial this year. The Mildred Elley Alumni Association is searching for its oldest living graduate to help commemorate the 100th anniversary.

Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program benefits are now available for eligible families and seniors across the state. The program provides checks to be redeemed at participating farmers’ markets and farm stands through the end of November for the purchase of fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables.

In New York State, qualifying clothing and footwear purchases are exempt from state sales tax year-round. Many states offer sales-tax breaks leading up to the school year, but in New York State clothing and footwear are always exempt from the state’s 4-percent sales tax when they are sold for less than $110.
