Farmers can apply to be in ag district

ALBANY COUNTY — The Albany County Legislature has designated Feb. 1 through March 3 as an annual 30-day period within which a landowner may submit an application to have land included in one of the county’s three agricultural districts.

To submit an application for inclusion of land, contact Cornell Cooperative Extension Albany County and ask for form RA-113 to be mailed to you or stop in the office at 24 Martin Road, Voorheesville, NY 12186.

Please note that during an annual open period, land may only be added to a district.  If you wish to have land removed, it must be done during an eight-year review.

If you would like more information on agricultural districts and the protection they offer to agricultural producers, contact Tom Gallagher by phone at 765-3511 or by email at [email protected].
