The first session will be February 17 at 5:00 pm.

Officers from the Guilderland Police Department will be at GPL for this Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) program for women. The RAD course is a total of 12 hourslong and is divided into 3 four-hour sessions. The next two sessions are on Friday, February 19 at 5:00 pm and Wednesday, February 24 at 5:00 pm. 

It begins with awareness, prevention, risk education and risk avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training. It is not your typical self defense course, where the student learns how to punch or kick through repetition- rather, it is designed for the student to survive attacks. 

This program is for women 18 years of age and older. No experience is necessary. Seats are limited.
