WESTERLO — “John C. Rosenthal I entered the Lord’s loving arms on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving wife, children, and family,” his family wrote in a tribute.

Born in Albany on March 6, 1949, he was the son of the late Charles E. Rosenthal Jr. and Alberta S. (née Masa) Rosenthal.

Maver Omer Becker

BERNE — Maver Omer Becker, who felt most at home in the field and on a tractor, leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and dedication to his community.

He died peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024, in Guilderland. He was 91.

KNOX — Patricia O. Miller, a kind person who loved dogs and rabbits, died on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024, in Albany with her loving husband by her side. She was 64.

Helen S. Otterness

EAST GREENBUSH — Helen S. Otterness, who saw the world through the eyes of an artist, teaching both children and grown-ups, found the most joy in gathering her family together.

She died peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024. She was 97.

Joyce Pulliam Wallace

SLINGERLANDS — Joyce Pulliam Wallace was a determined woman who taught school while raising two sons as a single mother and then pursued a career in law in her middle age before enjoying travel with the husband she met in law school.

She died on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024. She was 92.

Joyce Hughes

Joyce (née Smith) Hughes of Delmar, a mother of four who worked for the postal service and loved gardening, died on Wednesday Aug. 14, 2024. She was 80.

She was born in Albany on Aug. 27, 1943 to the late Mary (née Miller) and Marshall Smith.

Howard Richard Schaible

Howard “Howie” Richard Schaible, who came from a family with deep roots in Altamont, was a veteran who served during the Korean War and then had a long career with The Boeing Company.

He died on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at the age of 91.

Barbara L. Dexter

KNOX — Barbara L. Dexter had physical limitations but “no limitations on life,” said her niece Amy Boyt.

She died peacefully on Monday, July 29, 2024, at the age of 85.
