If the governor calls an emergency election in Berne, we urge both parties to put up candidates so the people have the power of choice. We also urge those who are elected to communicate with the people they are meant to serve.
If a school policy is going to work, the students, parents, teachers, and other staff have to be in support of it. Students need to learn the risks and opportunities that come with technology and not be shielded from them entirely.
Justin Zimmerman warned, “You cannot underestimate the power of racism and sexism.” But what we can do is acknowledge, with respect, a candidate’s identity and try to understand the force of political alliances created by that identity. This is part of civil discourse.
