Michael T. Canaday

Michael T. Canaday, who founded several businesses in Altamont and then a ranch in California, died from complications of cancer Thursday, May 9, 2024 after retiring to the area of Fort Worth, Texas.

His son, Jay Canaday, called his father’s battle with cancer “short but valiant.” He was 77 years old.

DELMAR — Linda L. Tanner, a generous-hearted woman who put her family and friends ahead of herself, died on Friday, May 17, 2024 at Gateway House of Peace in Ballston Spa. She was 74.

WESTERLO — A. Thomas “Tom” Keppler, a Vietnam veteran who liked camping with his grandson, died at his home on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. He was 79.

He was born in Albany on Feb. 24, 1945, a son of the late Fred and Mary Gesko Keppler. A lifelong resident of Westerlo, he was a graduate of Berne-Knox-Westerlo High School. 

KNOX — David L. Romey of Knox, who was proud of his work, died in Albany on Monday, May 13, 2024. He was 61.
Born on Dec. 18, 1962, he was the son of the late Gary and Betty (née Mayfield) Romey and the beloved husband of Roberta Romey with whom he shared 34 years of marriage. 

FEURA BUSH — Anna Elizabeth Crosier Houghtaling of Feura Bush “was welcomed into the gates of heaven on Friday, May 10, 2024, surrounded by her adoring family,” her family wrote in a tribute. She was 86.

BELCHERTOWN, Mass. — Mary L. (née Schuyler) Hamilton, who was known for her kind heart, died on Monday, May 13, 2024. She was 82.

Louis Schultz

KNOX — “Louis Schultz was born in Niskayuna on March 24, 1966, to a tight-knit Colonie farming family in the plant-growing business,” his family wrote in a tribute. “Lou loved heights.

James Warner Ingleson

ALTAMONT — James “Jim” Warner Ingleson was “a man of unwavering faith and wisdom, profound love for his family, and a passion for music,” his family wrote in a tribute. “He went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 4, 2024 surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness.” He was 76.

Adam C. Marrone

WESTERLO — Adam C. Marrone died “suddenly and too soon” on Friday, April 12, 2024, his family wrote in a tribute, adding that he was “59 years young.”

Born on June 21, 1964 in Catskill, New York, he was the son of the late Andrew and Anita (née Reno) Marrone Sr.

Eileen Myra (née Arnold) Clickman lived her entire life in the Hilltowns and was a pillar in many of its institutions from the Westerlo Reformed Church to the ladies’ auxiliary of the volunteer fire company.

She died peacefully on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Shaker Place in Albany. She was 95 years old.

Barbara Jane Girodias

Barbara Jane Girodias died peacefully at her family homestead on Sunday, April 28, 2024, surrounded by family. She was 94.

She was born on Sept. 16, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Lester and Grace (née Sand) Hearn. She lived on Long Island and graduated from Hempstead High School in 1947.
