On Tuesday, Sept. 26, the Guilderland girls’ soccer team hosted Shenendehowa at home in a Suburban Council matchup on the pitch. Shen didn’t allow the Dutch much all game long and fell 5-1.

On Saturday, Sept. 23, the Voorheesville football team took on the Canajoharie-Fort Plain Cougars at home. On a fall day, the Blackbirds lost two key members due to injuries and lost the match, 46 to 7.

On Friday, Sept. 22, the Guilderville girls’ swim team hosted the combined team of Schenectady/Colonie at Clayton A. Bouton high school. It all came down to the last event where Guilderville pulled out a 73-71 win.

Last Thursday, Sept. 21, the Voorheesville girls’ tennis were at home hosting the Albany Academy Bears. The small girls team played well but fell, 6 to 0.

The Guilderland cross-country team competed against some of the best schools in New York at the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Invitational on Sept. 16. Both the boys’ and girls’ teams won the title in their division, and Guilderland’s junior varsity swept as well.

On Friday, Sept. 15, Guilderland field hockey went across town to face off against Bethlehem for a suburban council battle. The Dutch led from the start and won, 4 to 1.

Last Thursday, Sept. 14, the Guilderland Football team traveled to Colonie High School to take on the Raiders. The teams countered each other’s scores throughout the game. The Dutch attempted to take the last shot but turned it over and fell, 50 to 43.

Last Thursday, Sept. 14, the Voorheesville girls’ golf team took to the course at Colonie Country Club as they played against the Cadets of LaSalle. The fall weather helped the Birds as they won, 161 to 173.

On Tuesday, Sept. 12, the Voorheesville Blackbirds girls’ soccer traveled to Mohonasen to take on the Warriors in a Colonial Council matchup. The Blackbirds had a quick start in the first half but extended their lead in the second and won, 5 to 2.

On Monday, Sept. 11, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo/Duanesburg boys’ soccer team hosted Galway in a Western Athletic Conference matchup. During the first half, there was a brief downpour but that didn’t stop the Beagles. They won, 5 to 1.

On Friday, Sept. 8, the Guilderland boys volleyball team took on the Shaker Blue Bison on a stormy evening at home. The Dutch and Bison battled hard but the Dutch took control to win three sets to none; 25-19, 25-22, 25-16.

Last Thursday, Sept. 7, the Guilderland girls volleyball team hosted a suburban council foe in Averill Park. The games were competitive until an injury forced the game to be defaulted in which Guilderland won 3 sets to none; 26-16, 25-23, 25-0.

On Saturday, Sept. 2, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo girls’ soccer team traveled to Middleburgh High School to compete in the finals of the Middleburgh kickoff tournament against Schoharie. The Bulldogs fell, 1-1 (4 to 2 on penalty kicks), after regulation.

On Friday morning, Sept. 1, the Guilderland girls’ tennis team took to their home courts to face off against Suburban council foe in Columbia. The Dutch sailed past the Blue Devils 9 to 0.

Last Thursday, Aug. 31, the Voorheesville Blackbirds girls’ volleyball team opened up the season on the road at Mohonasen. The Birds attempted a rally but the Warriors clipped the Birds’ wings, losing three sets to one; 13-25, 21-25, 25-18, 20-25.
