Mrs. Linda J. Tanner of Cobleskill, widow of Robert Tanner, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022. She was 74.
She was born on June 27, 1947 in Middleburgh, a daughter of the late Norman Laraway and Pauline (née Coons) Laraway Shilstone.

KNOX — August “Jeff” Landauer, Knox’s longtime highway superintendent, knew how to maintain roads and maintain relationships — with care and constancy. He didn’t hold grudges but took a wider view — like the one he’d get flying his airplane over the Hilltowns he loved.

Jeffrey Harrington

Jeffrey Harrington was a lifelong tradesman who took great pride in his work, in providing for his family, and in bringing old vehicles back to their former glory.
He died at St. Peter’s Hospital on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, surrounded by his loving family after a long hard-fought illness. He was 63.

Joseph Daniel Hilton

ALTAMONT — On Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022, Joseph Daniel Hilton of Altamont “followed the light to meet The Lord,” his family wrote in a tribute. He was 73.

He was born in Hudson, New York on May 10, 1948 to Paul S. and Laura Hilton.

John F. Dearstyne Jr.

NEW SCOTLAND — John F. Dearstyne Jr., who was devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren, was a steward of country life and worked to protect the rural character of his town.
He died peacefully at home on Monday, Jan.17, 2022, surrounded by the family he deeply loved. He was 83.

KNOX — Helen Keene Oettinger was a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved to garden, paint, and travel.

She died peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2022, at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland. She was 96.

“Another of the finest generation has left us. George Taylor Myers, 92, of New Salem (Thacher Park), New York left this earthly realm on 12 December 2021,” wrote his family in a tribute.

Eric K. Meyette

COHOES —  Eric K. Meyette died peacefully at home on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 35.

He was the son of Jennifer Meyette and Howard Meyette. Raised on Quay Road in Knox, he was a Berne-Knox-Westerlo student until the eighth grade.

Bud Kenyon

Legendary high school football coach, Bud Kenyon, died peacefully with his family present on Christmas morning, 2021, at his home in Greenwich, New York. He was 93.

Coach Kenyon found football as a 17-year-old Marine stationed in China — and he never let go.
