ALTAMONT — A 3 p.m. memorial service will be held at the Reid Northrup Memorial Stage in the grove at the Altamont fairgrounds on Sunday, May 2, to celebrate and remember the life of Porter E. Bidleman.

He died on Nov. 24, 2020 at the age of 94.

Michael J. Miller

KNOX — Michael J. Miller, a kind man who enjoyed the outdoors, died on Sunday, April 18, 2021, at his Knox home surrounded by his loving family. He was 63.

Dennis E. Holmes, the only son of the late Frank Edward and Shirley Holmes, died in his Schenectady home on Tuesday, March 23, 2021. He was 70 years old.

“Dennis was an incredible musician, a fantastic writer, and most of all a kind, gentle, giving, and genuine human being,” his family wrote in a tribute.

Corporal John James Prastio Sr.

ALTAMONT — Corporal John James Prastio Sr., 2nd Battalion 3rd Marines, retired, died peacefully at home on Sunday, April 11, 2021. He was 76.

A Vietnam veteran, he served in three tours and received three Purple Hearts. 

Marie Clement

GUILDERLAND —  Marie (née Schleder) Clement provided sustenance to others — for her life’s work and for her family.

“She was always very stoic … In her actions, she showed her love for her family,” said her daughter, Anna Marie Kupinski.

Peter Wesley Oliver Jr.

ALTAMONT — Peter Wesley Oliver Jr., a Marine who worked on highways and farmed, died, after a brief illness, on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, with his wife of over 60 years by his side. He was 83.

“Pete, as he was affectionately known to many, was a proud man and lived his life on his own terms,” his family wrote in a tribute.
