SCHOHARIE — Elizabeth B. Santore, a teacher and mother, died peacefully on Thursday, June 20, 2019, in the comfort of her Barton Hill Road home in Schoharie, surrounded by her loving family. She was 97.

Thomas P. Snowdon

WRIGHT — Thomas P. Snowdon, an Irishman who moved to the United States to work for General Electric as a mechanical engineer, died, after an extended illness, on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at his Knox Road home in Schoharie County’s town of Wright. He was 81.

Garry L. Porter

BERNE — Garry L. Porter, a lifelong Hilltown resident who worked as a surveyor, married his sweetheart and, with her, raised three children. He died peacefully on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at the Grand of Guilderland. He was 75.

He was born in Westerlo on Aug. 25, 1943 to the late Robert and Esther (née Lee) Porter.

On Thursday, June 13, 2019, Don Whitlock, a gregarious man who loved the outdoors, died at home as was his wish, with his wife, Betsy, and daughters, Kate and Karen, at his side. He was 83.

William P. Hauser

GUILDERLAND — William P. “Willie” Hauser, whose sisters described him as a kind-hearted protector, died unexpectedly at his Guilderland home on Thursday, June 6, 2019. He was 37.

Born in Albany on Sept. 19, 1981, he was the son of Barbara Hauser of Johnstown, and William Delligan of Delanson.

Virginia Sablon Heins

ALBANY — Virginia Sablon Heins — beloved daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt, great-great aunt, niece, cousin, and friend — died on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019 at Teresian House in Albany.

Ann Heins Balk

NEW SCOTLAND — Ann Katherine Heins Balk — an artist, an actress, a chemist, and a community supporter — died at her home in New Scotland on Sunday, July 8, 2018.

GUILDERLAND – William James Jr. was a man with deep and long commitments — to his country, to his town, to his fellow firefighters, and most of all to his family.
