GUILDERLAND — “Dr. Robert Baldauf, transitioned home to a magnificent party and celebration of his life on Thursday, April 28, 2016,” his family wrote in a tribute.

For decades, Hattie Lee Blue Diederich and her husband ran Diederich’s in Westerlo — a restaurant, gas station, and gift shop.

“My mom was always busy,” said her daughter, Nancy L Diederich; she specialized in the jewelry, glassware, and greeting cards at the gift shop.

ALTAMONT — Audrey Van Buren — wife, mother, and longtime Altamont resident — died on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Pathways Rehabilitation Center, after several years of declining health. She was 84.

Mrs. Van Buren, née MacFarland, was born in Rensselaer on March 15, 1932.

John Michael Tymchyn died doing what he loved — he was behind home plate, playing baseball.

“J.T. was suddenly called to his eternal rest on Sunday, April 17, 2016,” his family wrote in a tribute. He was 44.

EAST BERNE — Mary F. Delligan loved to help others; she took care of her family and of those who were ailing.

She died peacefully on Saturday, April 16, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 15, 1940, she was 75.

ALTAMONT — Village flags were at half-staff on Saturday because Trustee Christine Marshall had died.

KNOX — Robin P. Salisbury, a gardener and former courier, died on Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Albany Medical Center following a long illness. He was 65.

Mr. Salisbury was born on Feb. 24, 1951, in Albany to William E. and Marguerita (née Wilcox) Salisbury.

GALLUPVILLE — Howard M. “Skip” Skinner, a lifetime firefighter and a member of The Old Men of the Mountain, died after a long illness on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at Ellis Hospital. He was 77.

WEST BERNE — Stephen Torok, who worked for the county highway department and later as a railroad construction inspector, died at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center on Wednesday, April 6, 2016. He was 84.

ALTAMONT —  Barbara A. Scrafford, who loved being a wife and mother, was a religious woman who led a Christian clown ministry.

ALTAMONT — Robert L. Reals Sr., an art teacher and gardener, “died in the company of loved ones” on April 3, 2016, near his residence in Port Saint Lucie, Florida, his family wrote in a tribute. He was 86.

NEW SCOTLAND — Ashley Taheri, a mental-health therapist and mother, radiated warmth and compassion, said her husband Bill Pyke. Ms. Taheri died on Monday, April 4, 2016, in a car crash. She was 55.

GUILDERLAND — A draftsman and designer, Luther K. Snyder was exacting and precise.

“He was very detailed in everything he did,” said his daughter, Carol Adriance. She also said, “He loved his family. His family was his life, above everything else.”
