To the Editor:

Our benefit concert for kids in Haiti raised $7,000. Instead of collecting for a room “one brick at a time,” they now can have a whole school!

On Sept. 14, St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Delmar hosted “A Heart For Haiti” concert.

To the Editor:

The Altamont Free Library’s director is moving on.

Please come to a Community Gathering on Sunday, Sept.28, from 3 to 5 p.m. in Orsini Park to wish Judith Wines, well.

To the Editor:

Last Sunday, hundreds of thousands marched throughout the world demanding action on climate change; 120 world leaders gathered in New York for the United Nations Summit on Climate Change. What can we do?

To the Editor:

The members of the Guilderland Fire Department are once again preparing for their annual open house, which is being held this year on Oct. 4. The hours will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine. The firehouse is located on the corner of Western Avenue and Willow Street.

To the Editor:

No need to board a bus or pay hundreds of dollars for a ticket. Some of the best sports action around is right here in Voorheesville.

To the Editor:

A fortuitous happenstance may become a benefit to artists and photographers in the Berne area through a new hanging display system at the Berne Public Library.

At the library's Knitwits knitting group Sunday night, one member said to me, "Jane, I'm told you like old fabric."

To the Editor:

This is an open letter to the members of the Guilderland Board of Education.

To the Editor:

Early on the afternoon of Saturday, Sept. 20, our daughter, my husband, and I had the unfortunate experience of being part of a vehicle rollover accident on Route 146.

To the Editor:

I thought I knew/ a thing or two/ about the birds and bees/ but there’s more to find/ than the common kinds/ of wasps and chickadees.

I’ve always loved bird watching but it wasn’t often that they would treat me to the entertainment I’ve enjoyed this summer.

To the Editor:

Several years ago, the Hilltown Seniors signed their hall over to the Town of Berne. Supervisor Kevin Crosier thanked us and promised the world.

To the Editor:

It’s time to thank to all the members of our community who helped make Berne’s Summerfest a rousing success.

To the Editor:

On behalf of the Helderberg Hilltowns Association, I would like to thank all of the people who participated in the Discover the Hilltowns: Farms and Artisans Tour this past weekend.
