To the Editor:

I want to express how grateful I am for all the hard work done by the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy, the Friends of the Rail Trail, Scenic Hudson, Albany County, New York State Parks, the towns of  New Scotland and Bethlehem, the village of Voorheesville, involved elected officials, contributing businesses, and persistent individuals.

To the Editor:

The Saint Vincent de Paul Society and Boy Scout Troop 50 would like to thank the residents of Guilderland for another successful food drive this year.

We received over 3,800 units of food and household items. This will be a tremendous boon to less fortunate families within the Capital Region.

To the Editor:

It was right around Thanksgiving of 2001 when my grandfather, James L. Kirk, passed away. Now that my husband and I live in his former home not a day goes by that I don’t think of him in some way, especially during the holidays.

To the Editor:

First of all, a sincere "thank you" to Mr. Bill Kowal for his kind comments on his applauding Dianne Sefcik, myself, and others for our "civic efforts and concerns regarding hydraulic fracturing in Westerlo and the surrounding area." I have taken this as a compliment and it is greatly appreciated.

To the Editor:

Altamont Community Tradition is pleased to announce that, this year, on Dec. 15, in addition to all other Victorian Holiday events, there will be a Holiday Pet Costume Contest sponsored by Altamont Country Values (Agway).

To the Editor:

Berne Town Clerk Patricia Favreau is retiring after 34 years of dedicated service.

An open house will be held on Dec. 14, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 1p.m. at the Berne Town Hall for all the residents who wish to stop in to wish Pat well and thank her for all she has contributed to the town of Berne.

To the Editor:

While doing a little shopping at the mall this week, I decided to stop in and see Santa Claus.  Being 54 years old, I felt a little weird since I hadn't been to see him since I was about 8.
