GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland girls’ varsity lacrosse team has high hopes for the 2008 season.

GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland softball team won’t be as young as they look.

Though there are just four seniors on the roster, there are many returning players among the underclassmen.

And it is a mix that Coach Jen Ficarra likes.

VOORHEESVILLE — The young Blackbirds finally got out to play.

The Voorheesville softball team — with just two seniors — had its first practice outside Tuesday after spending the first couple of weeks of practice in the gym.

 

BERNE —The Berne-Knox-Westerlo softball team is building for the future, but it still has goals for this year.

The Lady Bulldogs have just five returning players; eight players are new to the varsity this spring.

GUILDERLAND — With a plethora of players back, the Guilderland baseball team looks to be in good shape to defend its title.

BERNE — The final season for Berne-Knox-Westerlo bowling coach Don Dennis was a satisfying one.

Dennis will be retiring from coaching the bowling team after 19 years at the helm, but he will continue to coach the golf team in the fall.

The season for the Guilderville boys’ swim team ended on a high note.

GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland boys’ lacrosse team will be one of the largest in the Suburban Council this season.

There are 30 players on this year’s Dutchmen squad, by far the most players Coach Sean McConaghy has had on the varsity team.

GUILDERLAND — Guilderland junior Matt Cubillos made the trek to Rochester as the lone wrestler representing his school.

VOORHEESVILLE — The Voorheesville bowling team is looking ahead to next year.

And with eight team members planning to return, things should be good next winter.
