BERNE — Youth and inexperience have been the theme for the Berne-Knox-Westerlo baseball team this season.

The Bulldogs are 2-2 in the league and have a 2-4 overall record.



GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland girls’ lacrosse team has a lot of depth and it showed in Friday’s Suburban Council match with Shaker.



GUILDERLAND — Jennifer Coton and Patty Hoffman wanted to do something to honor their dear friend Stacy Zounes.

Coton and Hoffman thought they could truly pay tribute to Zounes by holding a five-kilometer road race.





VOORHEESVILLE — The Voorheesville baseball team had just five hits in Monday’s game against Cobleskill.

And it was the last one that saved the game and possibly the season for the Blackbirds.





GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland softball team was led by a sophomore to give Coach Jen Maxwell her first win over Colonie.





GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland baseball team bounced back from a tough loss on Monday to beat previously undefeated Colonie, 11-4, on Wednesday afternoon.



GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland lacrosse team has gone unbeaten in its first four games including wins over a couple of rivals.



GUILDERLAND — As time was winding down, Guilderland lacrosse teammates Bob McIver and Ron Buck made eye contact.

Just a couple seconds later McIver fired a low underhand shot from 12 yards out that sparked a big celebration.



GUILDERLAND — The team was in a battle on Wednesday afternoon and came away with the victory.





VOORHEESVILLE — The -and-field teams will be smaller than they have been the past couple of years, but will be competitive as they move up from Class C in Section II to the larger Class B.





GUILDERLAND — They’ve come out in droves for the Guilderland boys’ track-and-field team.



BERNE — Many of the players for the Berne-Knox-Westerlo softball team this season are new to softball but have played other sports.
