PUBLIC NOTICE 

FORT HUNTER FIRE DISTRICT

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Fort Hunter Fire District will hold the 2020 Annual Meeting on January 13, 2020 @ 6:30 p.m. at the Fort Hunter Fire House. In addition all regular Fire District Meetings will be held on the 2nd Monday of each month and if needed on the 2nd Wednesday of each month for the 2020 Calendar Year.

All regular meetings will be held at the Fort Hunter Fire House, 3525 Carman Road, Guilderland, NY beginning @ 7 p.m.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Guilderland Center Fire District of the Town of Guilderland, County of Albany, State of New York, will hold its Organizational Meeting on Sunday, January 5th, 2020 at 11:00 o’clock A.M. on such day at the Guilderland Center Fire House located at 30 School Road, Guilderland Center, New York 12085. All meetings of the Fire District are open to the public.

This notification is being posted in accordance with the provisions of Section 94 of the Public Officers Law of the State of New York.

MCKOWNVILLE FIRE DISTRICT

The  bond resolution, a summary of which is published herewith, was adopted on the 6th day of November, 2019 and was approved by referendum on December 17, 2019, and the validity of the obligations authorized by such resolution may be hereafter contested only if (1) such obligations were authorized for an object or purpose for which the McKownville Fire District, Town of Guilderland, County of Albany, State of New York is not authorized to expend money or (2) if the provisions of the law which should have been complied with as of the date of publication of this notice were not substantially complied with, and an action, suit or proceeding contesting such validity is commenced within twenty days after the date of publication of this notice, (3) or such obligations were authorized in violation of the provisions of the Constitution.

The following is a summary of said bond resolution:

The title of the resolution is:  ”BOND RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS OF MCKOWNVILLE FIRE DISTRICT IN THE TOWN OF GUILDERLAND, ALBANY COUNTY, NEW YORK, ADOPTED NOVEMBER 6, 2019, AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION AND PURCHASE OF SELF CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS AND MASKS FOR USE WITHIN THE FIRE DISTRICT AND AREAS SERVED BY THE DISTRICT STATING THE ESTIMATED MAXIMUM COST OF SAID ACQUISITION AND EQUIPPING TOGETHER WITH CERTAIN COSTS PRELIMINARY AND INCIDENTAL THERETO IS $196,000.00, APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT THEREFOR AND AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF $139,475.00 SERIAL BONDS OF THE DISTRICT TO FINANCE SAID APPROPRIATION.” 

The resolution, among other things, authorized the McKownville Fire District, Town of Guilderland, New York (the “Fire District”) to purchase and borrow funds as indicated for the purchase of equipment necessary to the mission and purpose of the fire district.

 The resolution recited that the estimated maximum cost of the equipment, including preliminary costs and costs incidental thereto and the financing thereof, was $196,000 and said amount was appropriated therefor in the resolution. To finance said appropriation, the District was authorized to issue serial bonds of the Fire District, in one or more series, in the principal amount of up to $139,475 pursuant to and in accordance with the provisions of the Local Finance Law, constituting Chapter 33-A of the Consolidated Laws of the State of New York (the “Law”).

 The period of probable usefulness of the specific objects or purposes for which the bonds authorized by the resolution are authorized to be issued is five (5) years, within the limitation of Section 11.00(a) (32) of the Law.

The resolution summarized hereby is available for public inspection during normal business hours at the Fire District’s office located at 1250 Western Avenue, Albany, New York 12203.
