DUANE.
Burglars entered the store of Wesley McDougall on Thursday evening of last week. Felt boots, shoes, overalls, cigarettes and tobacco were taken to the value of $60. The thieves left no clue.
DELANSON.
Dimont M. Rector has put in two tables in the building adjoining the post office and there is interesting play nightly. Raymond Hagadorn has arranged a pool tournament and his parlors will be the Mecca of lovers of the game to watch Delanson’s experts in a friendly contest for some nights to come.
SOUTH BETHLEHEM.
A number of the children have been kept out of school on account of chicken pox.
VILLAGE NOTES.
On Sunday, Dec. 25, the Altamont post office will be open to give out mail from 9 to 9:45 a.m. THOMPSON’S LAKE.
Rehearsals are being held for a Christmas entertainment to be held in the church hall Monday night, Dec. 26. Refreshments will be served after the exercises.
CLARKSVILLE.
Our village doctor, Leon Shanks, is kept very busy day and night owing to the great deal of sickness.
CALLANANS CORNERS.
Harry Rarick will give a shooting match at Lewis Van Alstyne’s store on Monday, December 26th.
EAST BERNE.
Mr. and Mrs. Orlo Northrup entertained a party of friends at their home recently, progressive euchre being the pastime of the evening.
GUILDERLAND CENTER.
For the second time, a Community Christmas Tree will be held at the Town Hall on Tuesday evening, between the Holidays, to which all are most cordially invited. Come first to the Cafeteria supper which will be in readiness at 6:30 o’clock. Stay to enjoy the Christmas Tree, sing Christmas Carols and see Santa Claus whom we are expecting to visit us on that occasion. We are also anticipating some home made ice cream which is always hailed with delight. Come one come all on Tuesday, Dec. 27.
NEW SALEM.
Allen Countryman, who met with an accident in Albany some time ago, breaking one ankle and spraining the other, will return to his home here this week.
WEST TOWNSHIP.
Rev. J. G. Masel has an auto now and every one can expect a pastoral call if the snow does not come too soon.
SLINGERLANDS.
— Abram LeGallez is building an extensive addition to his greenhouse.
— Last evening the Slingerlands M. E. Sunday School held Christmas exercises in the church There was a beautifully trimmed tree and each member of the school received a present.
