BETHLEHEM — On Dec. 19, the Bethlehem Police released pictures from store video surveillance of a man and a woman, known to frequent Stewart’s Shops in the area, suspected of credit-card theft.

Six tips came in from the public and by 4 p.m. the next day, Dec. 20, Bethlehem Police arrested Dana J. Williams, 45, of Troy, and John J. Broderick, 55, of Delmar, according to commander Adam Hornick of the Bethlehem Police.

Both of them were charged with third-degree identity theft and petit larceny, misdemeanors, and Williams was also charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony.

Williams and Broderick were released on issued appearance tickets, and are scheduled to appear in Bethlehem Town Court on Jan. 2 at 4 p.m.

“We received tips from phone calls to our station as well as through the anonymous P3 tip app  with the Capital region Crime Stoppers,” said Hornick, answering Enterprise question in an email. “We have found this to be any valuable tool for law enforcement and the public to work together and share information.”
