11th Annual Teddy Bear Tea was a wonderful community event

To the Editor:

On Dec. 9, the New Salem Volunteer Fire Department Ladies’ Auxiliary hosted its 11th Annual Teddy Bear Tea with Mrs. Claus and special guests Santa Claus and one of the elves. Tea sandwiches, Christmas cookies for dessert, tea, and hot chocolate all prepared by the auxiliary were enjoyed with the 40 children and 40 adults in attendance.

Mrs. Claus read to the children and Santa met with each and every child to hear their Christmas wishes. A wonderful time was had by all.

Thank you for the support of all the parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends who stayed to enjoy the tea with us.

Thank you to Mrs. Claus, Santa, and the members of both the auxiliary and the fire department who helped make our Teddy Bear Tea such a wonderful community event. We also would like to thank the many volunteers and elves who gave of their time to assist us.

In appreciation, the New Salem Auxiliary would like to thank both the Voorheesville and Guilderland Hannaford Supermarkets, Falvo’s Meat Market in New Scotland, and ShopRite of Slingerlands for their generous donations of food items and a gift card for our event.
