Spread the word: Boxed holiday meals for veterans
To the Editor:
Calling all Hilltown veterans (Berne, Knox, Westerlo, and Rensselaerville). On Dec. 21, we will be giving out boxed holiday dinners from noon to 2 p.m. (while supplies last) at the Berne-Knox-Westerlo Elementary School.
Albany County has done an amazing job with events for our vets, but I think sometimes the Hilltown veteran community can’t always attend. That’s why this year I have decided to try to do something up here on the Hill for our small community.
Please spread the word to all veterans living in the Hilltowns. I am humbled by the support we have received from our local sponsors to make this happen. If this year’s drive is successful, we can make this an annual event.
In each box there will be a foil-wrapped spiral ham, local honey, local produce (potatoes, carrots, onions, and apples) and a donor list, so please consider giving them your business!
A special thank-you to all of our donors: The Babbling Brook, BKW Class of 2027, Westerlo Rural Cemetery, Westerlo Hometown Heroes, our local first responders that will be doing traffic control, and Stanton’s Farm for making this possible!
If any Hilltown veterans are unable to make it, please contact me directly at .
