Frederick elected commish
GUILDERLAND — Fire department and district elections were held last week and Burton Frederick, who won re-election as fire commissioner on the Board of Commissioners of the Guilderland Center Fire District, thanked the voters this week.
He also thanked his opponent, Grant Roberts, who, he said, “ran a spirited, clean, and close election campaign.”
Frederick told The Enterprise this week that there were 43 votes total, and he won by a margin of 3 votes, to be elected for his third term.
He said it was the first time he has had an opponent, and the first time anyone running for the position in “recent history” has had an opponent.
The fire commissioner, he said, handles the financial aspect of the district.
Frederick pledged to serve in the best interest of the residents of the fire district.
