Wyatt Andrew Grace of Delmar will be commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force during the Clemson University ROTC joint commissioning ceremony on Wednesday, Dec. 19.

Grace, who is majoring in mechanical engineering, is among 16 students receiving commissions in the U.S. Army or U.S. Air Force at the ceremony.

Following the commissioning ceremony, the new lieutenants will participate in a Silver Dollar Salute ceremony at Clemson’s Military Heritage Plaza in Clemson, South Carolina. The ceremony marks the first salute received by the new officer from an enlisted member. As a sign of mutual respect, the officer presents the enlisted member with a silver dollar.
