GUILDERLAND — The Old Hellebergh Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution has chosen Taylor Carman as this year’s recipient of its Good Citizen Award.

Carman is a senior at Guilderland High School.

She was selected as the school's winner based on having the qualities of a good citizen: dependability (including truthfulness, loyalty, and punctuality), service (including cooperation, courtesy, and consideration of others), leadership (including personality, self-control, and ability to assume responsibility), and patriotism (including unselfish interest in family, school, community, and nation).

Carman was awarded the DAR Good Citizen pin at a recent chapter meeting and will be honored at the school’s awards night when she will receive a certificate and a check from the chapter.
