Thanks for bringing bring a little bit of normal to needy children at Christmas

To the Editor:

The Teaching Assistant Unit of the Guilderland Teachers’ Association just concluded its Twelfth Annual Holiday Toy Drive to benefit needy area children.

The toys were delivered to Georgianna Pennacchia, the president of the St. Madeleine Sophie Food Pantry, who will distribute them to children from St. Catherine’s Center who are awaiting foster care and to children from local families who are experiencing difficulties in their lives.

The month-long drive was very successful and we would like to thank the school district and the community for their generosity in donating over 850 toys, books, and wrapping supplies. We thank all of our donors for helping to bring a little bit of normal to the children in what is a particularly difficult year.
