Shatynski wins Run Off That Turkey Trot

ALTAMONT — Todd Shatynski, 39, of Altamont, won the Eighth Annual Run Off That Turkey Trot 5K on Saturday, Nov. 28, crossing the finish line in 18 minutes flat.

He was followed closely by Lukus Becker, 18, of Berne, in 18:06. Gary Longhi, 51, of Voorheesville, came in third at 20:14.

The first woman to cross the finish line was Lisa Tarquinio, 26, of Schenectady with a time of 21:40.The second woman was Penny Tisko, 47, of Voorheesville at 21:48, and the third wasDana Peterson, 45, also of Voorheesville, in 21:54.

Altogether, 149 people ran in the event, which benefits the Helderberg Running Club Junior Olympic Team.
