I will be available to anyone for any reason at any time
To the Editor:
I would like to thank those of you who trusted, supported and voted for me as Knox town supervisor in last month's election. I am truly grateful for the vote of confidence and do not take it lightly.
I look forward to working with the town board members to help Knox grow into the future. I also look forward to working toward gaining the trust and support of those who may have hesitated in supporting me this past November.
A friend recently asked me to look up the phrase "servant leadership" and to keep it in mind in my role as the Knox town supervisor. I looked up the phrase and it turned out to be good advice.
There are many definitions but in essence a servant leader is one who is a servant of the people first and a leader second. This implies to me that the leader does the bidding of the people rather than his or her own. I agree with this philosophy.
As supervisor, I plan to focus on communicating often and making myself available to anyone, for any reason at any time. By working together, we can truly make Knox greater than it already is.
Not to sound cliché, but my door (and phone 872-0649) is always open. Thanks again for the support.
As Knox moves forward, the board members and I would also like to take time to remember the service of Supervisor Mike Hammond. We cordially invite the public to attend a get together on Jan. 10, 2016 at the Township Tavern at 4 p.m. to honor the decades of service outgoing he has given to this community.
Special thanks goes to Dennis Barber for helping facilitate this event and we ask that anyone interested in attending RSVP to Dennis directly at 860-7861.
