Gas station robbed at gunpoint

GUILDERLAND — A man wielding a handgun stole cash and cigarettes from the Mobil gas station at 3605 Carman Road on Friday, police say.

Guilderland Police, who issued a release on the robbery, responded at about 11 a.m. and found the suspect had fled on foot, west on Carman Road, the release said; the station’s clerk was not injured.

Police described the suspect as “a black male approximately 5 feet, 5 inches tall, wearing a red sweatshirt, blue jeans, gray and white sneakers, and a blue bandana on his face.”

Guilderland Police with their trained dog searched the area along with Rotterdam Police and the Schenectady County Sheriff's Office but found nothing.

“The suspect is unknown at this time,” Saturday’s release said, noting that the investigation is ongoing.
