These local students have recently distinguished themselves:

— Emma DeFrancesco of Slingerlands, majoring in Spanish and psychology, has earned a national award for contributions to College of the Holy Cross' Chapter of National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society Sigma Delta Pi;

— Olivia DeVries of Delmar, was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. DeVries was initiated at MCPHS University; and

— Lauren Horstmyer of Schenectady, a graduate of Guilderland High School, majoring in natural sciences at Colgate University, has earned the spring 2020 Dean's Award for Academic Excellence.

— Erica Friedman of Delmar, majoring in psychological science who graduated from Bethlehem Central High School;

— Caitlin Gagan of Slingerlands, majoring in mathematical economics who graduated from Guilderland High School;

— Alexandra Richer of Slingerlands, majoring in mathematical economics who graduated from Bethlehem Central High School;

— Eliza Molinsek of Delmar, majoring in sociology; and 

— Laura Patak Voorheesville, majoring in neuroscience who graduated from Clayton A Bouton Jr-Sr HS.
