Join us in song as trees are lit, then breakfast with Santa

To the Editor:
The Helderberg Family and Community Organization is honored to bring the fourth annual Hope and Peace Community Festival of Trees for the residents of the Hilltowns and surrounding communities.

All are invited to join us at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, for the Tree-Lighting Ceremony behind the Knox firehouse at 2198 Berne-Altamont Rd. This evening of holiday cheer will feature guest vocalists from the Berne-Knox-Westerlo elementary and secondary school choirs as they lead us in a community sing-along.

To follow will be the lighting of 42 beautifully decorated trees and a holiday treat for all. The trees will be lit each evening through Jan. 8 for all to enjoy.

And on Sunday, Dec. 4, join HFCO for a Breakfast with Santa at the Berne firehouse at 30 Canaday Hill Rd. from 8 a.m till noon, or until sold out. Due to the overwhelming response last year, we will be taking advanced seating reservations with a limited number of walk-ins.

Enjoy breakfast along with pictures and a treat from Santa! Basket raffles will be available as well. (Children under 2 are admitted for free; children ages 2 to 10 are charged $5; over age 11 pay $10; and senior citizens are charged $6.)

For reservations, please call Sandra Quay at 518-605-1351 or Joan Adriance at 518 461-1320 by Nov. 30.

We look forward to sharing the joy of the season with all of you.
