Julie Chapman will read from her book ‘Santa, Elves and Mystical Bells’

To the Editor:
The New Salem Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will be hosting its 14th Teddy Bear Tea with Mrs. Claus for boys and girls on Saturday, Dec. 9, with seating at 1 p.m. at the New Salem firehouse at 694 New Salem Road. Bring along your favorite teddy bear.

The auxiliary has been in contact with Mrs. Claus again this year to help them plan to have another wonderful event for the children in the community. Mrs. Claus is looking forward to seeing everyone!

As a special guest this year, Julie Chapman, a two-time Emmy Award-winning broadcast journalist will read from her book “Santa, Elves and Mystical Bells,” a collection of holiday-themed poetic tales.

Paid advance reservations are required by Thursday, Dec. 1. Please call 518-421-4057 or email to make your reservations. When calling or emailing, please be sure to leave your name and phone number so Mrs. Claus’s office can return your call and provide further information.

The children attending must be at least 2 years old. The cost is $30 for an adult and one child. Each additional guest (child, Grandma, Grandpa, cousins, or friends) is $10 each. Bring your camera for photo opportunities.

A portion of the proceeds, as in past years, will be donated to the Albany County Sheriff’s Office Hilltown Christmas Program.
