Support VCSF on Giving Tuesday

To the Editor:

As 2017 winds down, the Voorheesville Community and School Foundation is winding up to plan another successful year of fundraising and grantmaking.

We recently hosted an event at Indian Ladder Farms to thank donors who have supported us and helped to make 2017 a remarkable year for private donations to school and community projects and programs, large and small. We appreciate the generosity of those who donated and attended our event.

In the past year, VCSF has contributed to some amazing things in our community. The Voorheesville Rail Trail Pavilion is complete and has become the hub for the annual Voorheesville Family Bicycling Day; the Hilton Barn is now settled on its new, permanent foundation; a large gazebo shelter has been built at the school satellite athletics fields; a new pavilion will soon be erected at Feura Bush Town Park; and there has been a very successful effort to raise funds to build a new playground at Voorheesville Elementary School.

School and community organizations know that they can come to VCSF with grant requests for much smaller, but also very important, projects as well, such as supporting the arts, providing seed money for new school clubs, and purchasing athletic equipment.

In 2018, VCSF will strive to support as many deserving projects and programs as possible in our schools and community. To do this, we need to replenish our grant funds even more. Please consider celebrating Giving Tuesday on Nov. 28 by supporting your community through a tax-deductible donation to the foundation. With your generous support, we can accomplish so much.

Donations can be made by credit card or PayPal at our website, www.vcsfoundation.com, or by mailing a check to VCSF, Post Office Box 523, Voorheesville, NY 12186. If you would like to stay informed of the foundation’s efforts and events, please send an email to to join our email list.  Thank you.
