Library has new carpet thanks to Voorheesville generosity

To the Editor:

Your readers may already know that the Voorheesville Public Library is undergoing many exciting renovations, and that the Friends of the Library recently sought to complement them by raising funds to replace the library’s carpet. We reached out to the community, and — as always — were gratified by a very generous response.

We’re very grateful to all those who contributed to our fundraising campaign. Individual donations ranged from pocket change to$1,000, and came from members of the Friends of the Library, library patrons, Voorheesville natives now living outside the area, and community members at large.

These generous donations helped us reach our goal of funding the carpet replacement, which was not included in the grant funds obtained by the library for the other renovations.

A special shout-out goes to local businesses and community organizations that supported the carpet fundraiser in a big way: the Voorheesville Fire Department Auxiliary, the New Salem Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, Voorheesville American Legion Post 1493, Atlas Copco Comptec LLC, Dr. Steven L. Lysenko LLC, Carl’s Advanced Automotive & Truck Repair Center, Carl’s Custom Car Care Center, Aloe Vera Naturals LLC, Nusser Photography, and Refined Designs Custom Jewelry. Thank you!

We’re happy to say that, thanks to the generosity of our wonderful community and the long history of diligent fundraising by the FOL Board members, the new carpet is being installed! Stay tuned for news of an open house after all the renovations have been completed, at which time we will officially recognize donors to our carpet-replacement fundraiser.
