See what a beautiful new crown our steeple has!

To the Editor:

We would like to invite the public to the dedication of our new roof and steeple on our historic church on Sunday, Nov. 17, at 10 a.m.

Over the summer, our “dragon’s teeth” at the top of our steeple were replaced by MAPCO Enterprises, who put up a new crenelated parapet, a new access door, and roof on the top of the steeple. Take a look up the next time you go by the church and see what a beautiful new crown our steeple has!

But we weren’t done yet! Our second project last summer was to replace the roof and gutters on the rest of the church building, and Pinnacle Roofing did a great job. Our old roof was installed in 1998, so it lived a good, long life.

As roofers were inspecting the top of our building, they noticed that the top two feet of the chimney needed to be repointed. The needs of an historic building such as ours never seem to end.

We were blessed to have received two grants toward these projects from Sacred Sites and Albany Presbytery Trustees. We also had a very generous anonymous donor who matched all gifts up to $10,000! Our congregation really pulled together in supporting our mission through the good care of our building!

On Sunday, Nov. 17, we will dedicate this work to the glory of God, with guests from Albany Presbyteryn joining us.

The Rev. Holly Cameron
