I stuck to my principles

To the Editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every resident who supported, campaigned, and voted for me in the general election.

As promised, I remained committed to improving your quality of life, taking on your issues, and elevating your voice regardless of what ballot line I was on. I stuck to my principles, and I continued to run to give residents an option.

Although I will not be joining the Guilderland Town Board this January, I can already see some small positive changes happening due to our platform, which raised the awareness of the need to include the residents in the major decisions made by the current town administration. I believe my campaign was also instrumental in laying some groundwork for future campaigns.

The majority of residents chose their newly elected town board members Christine Napierski and Amanda Beedle, and I believe we should congratulate and stand behind them with their promises to bring the necessary changes you expect.

I will keep my email and Facebook page open. I will always be available to listen, have conversations, and assist however I can. It was an absolute honor and a pleasure to take part in this election process, and get to meet so many wonderful Guilderland residents. Be well and stay safe!

Kevin J. McDonald

Guilderland

Editor’s note: Kevin McDonald, after not securing the Democratic line in the primary, ran for Guilderland Town Board on the Working Families line.
