Community Thanksgiving Worship will support families without homes

To the Editor:
New Scotland Presbyterian Church is delighted to host this year’s Community Thanksgiving Worship service on Sunday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m.

This will be the second annual service of the combined congregations of St. Matthew’s Roman Catholic Church, the First United Methodist Church of Voorheesville, and the New Scotland Presbyterian Church where we will join together to celebrate Thanksgiving worship.

The three churches are combining their choirs and will sing at the service.

The Rev. Charles Onyeneke, parochial vicar of St. Matthew’s Church, will offer the message. Born and raised in Nigeria, he holds bachelor degrees in philosophy and theology, and a master of arts degree in theology with concentration in moral theology. He was ordained to the priesthood in September 2020 at Albany’s Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

An offering will be taken to support the ministry of Family Promise, which helps families without homes. We hope that many families in our combined communities will be able to join us for this event.
