NEW SCOTLAND.

We saw a large pan of ripe strawberries, that were picked from the garden of Lewis Pier on Saturday, Nov. 3. This late variety of strawberry plants is wonderful. Fourteen quarts of berries have been picked from this little patch since August 1, and from present appearance there will be berries to pick on Christmas day (maybe).

VOORHEESVILLE.

— All the ladies of the Woman’s Auxiliary of the Presbyterian church are invited to meet at the church on Wednesday morning, Nov. 14, for the purpose of cleaning the church. All those who cannot be present are asked to contribute some money for their share of the work.

— The members of the Voorheesville Red Cross branch have been very busy of late in making Christmas Comfort Kits and afghans for soldier boys in France. Mrs. Vanderpoel desires that as many of the knitted articles as possible be returned to her not later than Nov. 12, on account of shipments being made Nov. 14.

A SHOWER FOR CHRISTMAS KITS FOR THE SOLDIERS.

VILLAGE NOTES.

A Birthday Party.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Crounse entertained at their home Saturday afternoon, Oct. 27, in honor of the fifth birthday of their little daughter, Fredericka Ann. Luncheon was served at 5 o'clock. The table was prettily decorated with ground pine and red berries, and the favors were birch-bark baskets filled with home made candies.
