Generous community and steadfast Scouts keep food pantry stocked

The Boy Scouts of Troop 264, their leaders, and helpers, pose for a portrait after completing their annual food drive on Saturday.

To the Editor:

Thank you to the members of Boy Scout Troop 264 who went all around the village in the pouring rain on Saturday, collecting food for those in need in our area. They spent many hours going throughout the neighborhoods, collecting the bags of donations, sorting and boxing the items, and then donating it to the Altamont Community Food Pantry.

As we approach this time of Thanksgiving, we are very grateful to have this active, ambitious group of Scouts, leaders, and parents here in Altamont.

Thank you also to our wonderful community members for your amazing generosity. You are always so supportive and willing to help whenever asked.

Even with the rain, an abundance of non-perishable food items were received. This enables us to keep the food pantry shelves stocked throughout the winter and adds a welcomed variety. We certainly count our blessings.
