To the Editor:
It was something to see Monday night Jair Bolsonaro’s tanks and armored trucks massing at intersections, waiting for the go ahead to begin the civil war so desired by the newly defeated head of Brazil.

Egged on in his defiance to claim the election was stolen when evidence was to the contrary, Bolsanaro is ready to kill his country men and women willy-nilly because the majority do not go along with his fantasy. And Monday night he was ready to go full frontal authoritarian with all the firepower needed to convince those surviving and watching that the election was, indeed, his to have.

Cheering Bolsonaro on, of course, were Donald Trump and his hired hand, Beitbart’s chief spewer of hate and lies, both obviously gleeful Trump might have a twin election denier in a southern neighbor.

Quick check here at home and we see we have our own denier of the United States 2020 election results, Republican gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin, ring kisser to Trump, the other hand simultaneously held up in a high five to the oil and gas corporations to come and pillage our New York State lands as they have pillaged Pennsylvania, leaving hellish landscapes, polluted rivers and streams, dead wildlife, and many Pennsylvanians (those who did not get rich as promised by the land agents who came hawking glossy futures) wondering how they got suckered.

Do vote for Zeldin and the guarantee of his grifter land agents to come. Bind your children’s futures to a Trump sycophant who trashes women’s reproductive rights as easily as he does New Yorkers’ rights to clean air, clean water, and clean elections. I wonder how many gas and oil futures Zeldin plans for his own portfolio.
