I’m voting for Ken. A hard choice between two good men

To the Editor:

It’s time for me to make a decision. There is one seat on the Knox Town Board for a councilman, and I know both candidates running for that position.

Ken Saddlemire is a full-time farmer living on Becker Road. I've known Ken his whole adult life and, in my 52 years with the Knox Fire Company, I have seen Ken rise up through the ranks until he reached the highest rank of chief. He was the first of his generation to claim the honor. Ken and Margery have raised two fine successful children that they are very proud of.

Dan Hanley has been a member of my church (St. Lucy's/St. Bernadette's Roman Catholic Church) for years. Over that time, I've watched his family grow in number and grow in stature. My wife and I have always told Dan that his children are beautiful and respectful with great manners. Family values are held in highest regard by both of us and are a mark of good citizenship.

I have given this a lot of consideration and my vote must go to Ken Saddlemire. First, for his involvement with the community over years from Little League to the fire company. Second, for his family values. And lastly, anybody that is willing to enter a burning building to save one of our residents or their property is the kind of man that I truly believe can represent this town.

Ken Saddlemire is a write-in candidate and is faced with a uphill task. If you also think he is the best choice, then please fill in the circle at the bottom of line 10 and write “Ken Saddlemire” in the box.
