— Mrs. Ostrander has received word from George Sadler, who enlisted in June from New Salem, and who is somewhere across the water. He writes that he is enjoying good health and is quite comfortable.

GUILDERLAND CENTER.

Sunday, Nov. 4, will be observed as World’s Temperance Sunday. There will be special exercises in the Reformed Sunday school under the direction of Miss Ida Tygert.

VILLAGE NOTES.

Percy Gallup, Zeb Strevell and Chester Warner, of East Berne, have returned from a hunting trip in the North Woods, near Shaker Place. They brought home two deer, one of which was a ten point buck. Both were good weight.

PARKER’S CORNERS.

Walter Pennington has returned to Hoboken, N. J., after spending a short furlough with his parents. Saturday evening he was tendered a party by the young people. An automobile contest and music were enjoyed, and games were played. Refreshments were served at which time Howard Robison made a speech and presented Mr. Pennington with one of the latest and most popular books, “Over the Top,” a gift of the guests. Mr. Pennington responded and said he knew both he and his comrades would enjoy reading a good book. Every one present wrote a letter to be opened and read by their host while on board ship.

MEN OF NEW YORK, CAST YOUR VOTES FOR WOMEN!

There is a man’s work for you to do on Election Day. It is to let your vote count for Woman Suffrage.

Let no one say that a war year is not the time to extend suffrage to women. It is the time of all times! Since January seven states have given women the vote.

The Allied countries at war have either granted Woman Suffrage or are seriously considering it at this moment.

Here today, in your own state, 1,012,994 enrolled women are asking to be allowed to take the same full share of responsibility that has been given to the women of other states and countries. To give them what they ask is more than duty. It’s your privilege — the highest exercise of civic right you can perform.

Let nothing keep you from the polls next Tuesday! Your vote may win the day for Woman Suffrage!
