Winter Wonderland is theme for this year’s greens show

GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland Garden Club and Guilderland Historical Society are preparing for the annual festivities at the Mynderse-Frederick House at 451 Main Street in Guilderland Center.

The event is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 30, from 4 to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 1 and 2, from 1 to 5 p.m. The theme this year is “Winter Wonderland.”

Visitors to this free event will see the house fully decorated with ornaments, wreaths, and arrangements made by club members, which may be purchased. Visitors are welcome to enjoy homemade refreshments.  The following entertainment is scheduled:

— Friday, Nov. 30: From 4 to 6 p.m., Nancy Edmonds will play the piano; from 6 to 8 p.m., Nina Zanetti and MJ Pattison will play the dulcimer;

— Saturday, Dec. 1: From 1 to 3 p.m., kids can visit with Santa; from 3 to 5 p.m., Tom thorpe will play the guitar; and

— Sunday, Dec. 2: From 3 to 3 p.m., Lynn Roor with the Suburban Sounds will lead a sing-along.

Throughout the show, John Overbeck will be dressed in period clothes and Donna Crego will be wearing a replica of the original bridal gown worn by Apolonia Frederick.

Visitors are encouraged to bring a non-perishable donation for the Regional Food Bank.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Lyme Action Network to sponsor a seminar on Lyme and other tick-borne diseases.
