Knox driver rescued from underneath flipped vehicle
KNOX — On Thursday, a 23-year-old Knox resident was found trapped beneath a sedan, which had overturned in a shallow ditch on Knox Cave Road, according to a press release from the Albany County Sheriff’s Office.
The release states that passersby managed to haul the vehicle out of the ditch and off the driver, and were in the process of performing CPR by the time deputies arrived; the driver was ultimately shuttled to Albany Medical Center in critical condition.
A photo of the vehicle from the sheriff’s office shows the fender almost entirely detached, the front left headlight gouged out, the driver’s door displaced, and airbags deployed, along with mud smeared around the areas of impact as the vehicle sits along the rural roadway.
The cause of the crash is being investigated, the release says.
