At VCSD, 31 students earn AP Scholar Awards

VOORHEESVILLE — Thirty-one students at Clayton A. Bouton High School have earned AP Scholar Awards in recognition of their exceptional achievement on Advanced Placement Exams.

The College Board program allows high school students to take college-level courses and to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP Exams. About 22 percent of the 2.2 million students worldwide who took AP Exams performed at a sufficiently high level to also earn an AP Scholar Award.

The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement based on students’ performance on AP Exams. At Clayton A. Bouton High School:

— Three students — Justin J. Cunningham, Stephanie E. Erickson  and Dante R. Gil-Marin — qualified for the National AP Scholar Award by earning an average score of 4 or higher on a five-point scale on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams;

— Fifteen students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. These students are: Sarah Bracken, Derek J. Brower, Rebecca L. Clair, Justin J. Cunningham, Evan V. Ensslin, Stephanie E. Erickson, Dante R. Gil-Marin, Angela R. Gocs-Yowell, Emily T. Hampston, Brian E. Hotopp, Jack Murray, Abigail L. Reilly, Nicholas A. Summerson, Sophie Whiteman, and Lucas A. Wilson;

— Sixteen students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. These students are: Emily J. Bablin, Julia G. Conroy, Luke W. Durivage,  Killian R. Fullerton, Emalene Greenman, Alicia Kelley, Jayden Kelley, Marco F. Loccisano, Spencer J. Mason, Lily E. McDonnell, Jarret T. Merens, Lindsey G. Odorizzi, Clare M. Reilly, Siddhartha Sahai, Aaron A. Saia, and Hannah P. Woodruff;

— Thirty-one students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP Exams with scores of 3 or higher. The AP Scholars are: Nadia R. Ashman, Olivia V. Barringer, Alexander Y. Denn, Regan M. Dennis, Braden C. Esposito, Olivia J. Farney, Jacob A. Feller, Lukas J. Fisher, Matthew W. Flandreau, Niaz Z. Goodbee, Olivia G. Hansen, Naomi Hertz, Colby M. Hoffman, Isabel M. Jobin-Davis, Justin C. King, Ethan J. Lawrence, Blake W. Luther, Camille G. McDonnell, Kelsey A. McMillen, Daniel R.Monaghan, Amber M. Moore, Matthew K. Pangburn, Abigail B. Parker, Lynn E. Parker Jr., Alexander N. Ruhren, Jacob Rychcik, Alexander J. Sleasman, Samantha R. Smith, Frank F. Tedesco, Sydney M. Wilson, and Elliana L. Windsor.

Of this year’s award recipients at Clayton A. Bouton, 25 were juniors last year: Nadia R. Ashman, Olivia V. Barringer, Julia G. Conroy, Regan M. Dennis, Luke W. Durivage, Evan V. Ensslin, Olivia J. Farney, Killian R. Fullerton, Emalene Greenman, Colby M. Hoffman, Alicia Kelley, Jayden Kelley, Justin C. King, Marco F. Loccisano, Blake W. Luther, Camille G. McDonnell, Lily E. McDonnell, Lindsey G. Odorizzi, Matthew K. Pangburn, Claire M. Reilly, Alexander N. Ruhren, Alexander J. Sleasman, Nicholas A. Summerson, Sydney M. Wilson, and Hannah P. Woodruff.

These students have at least one more year in which to complete college-level work and possibly earn a higher-level AP Scholar Award.
