Eat Halloween breakfast and November 4 dinner at the VFW

To the Editor:

The Boyd Hilton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, at 11 Mill St. in Altamont, has a lot going on.

On Oct. 28, the VFW will be hosting a Halloween breakfast. A child who is 8 or younger, accompanied by a paying adult, and comes in costume will receive a free breakfast.

Each person who brings a new unwrapped toy for our toy drive will receive a dollar off their breakfast price.

Please help us make all children happy on Christmas morning. For the holiday season, the Boyd Hilton VFW Post is designated to accept donations for Toys for Tots and for the Albany County Sheriff’s Hilltown Christmas.

Toys are needed for children from newborn to 16 years old. All toys must be new and unwrapped. Toys may be dropped off any day from 2 till 7 p.m. or later. Please call (518) 861-8323 for more information.

The VFW auxiliary’s annual Chicken ’n’ Biscuit Dinner is on Nov. 4. We will be serving from 4 to 7 p.m. The dinner will include chicken and biscuits, gravy, veggies, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, coffee, tea, and a variety of pies for dessert.

The donation for the dinner is $11 per person; tickets are available at the VFW any day from 2 p.m. till at least 7 p.m. You can eat in or dine out.

Get your fall clean-up done, your wood split and stacked, your pool covered — and when you’re done, bring your family and friends to the VFW for a great dinner, see your friends, and help us raise funds for all our veterans’ projects. And, of course, this way you don't have to do the dishes!

Call me at (518) 470-7310 for more information.
